How to talk to children about body confidence

How can we speak with children and young people about body confidence to help them understand that their self-worth isn’t measured in how they look or what they weigh?

Teaching young people about body confidence is fundamental. It’s important for them to know that bodies come in all shapes and sizes. Some might have stretch marks, fat in certain places (specifically young girls), and that all bodies will continually change and grow, even into midlife.

This is a conversation to be had in the home as well as in school. We’ve noticed that children are starting puberty earlier and earlier, so it’s important to start this conversation earlier too.
